Text Replacement is a built-in function on your Mac that allows you to automatically replace one sequence of characters with another. You can use them to fix common typos, make it easier to type long phases, or even allows you to insert longer passages you commonly use when writing. They can also help when trying to type special characters or emoji. Text Replacement works in most apps though some have special settings.- I haven't been able to get this to work on an iPhone either, but my workaround of creating a Text Replacement on my Mac with iCloud Drive turned on and System Preferences allowed to use it (the default) works.
- In the Replace column you will need to type in the text shortcuts and in the With will be the text that is going to replace with the shortcuts. You can use either shortcuts, words or random text in the Replace column. In the Width column the replacement text can be from a word to full sentences.
